Trigger Point Injections
Often underdiagnosed, trigger points are tender knots (taut band) in muscles that can have related referred pain. These are sometimes also called as myofascial pain.
Patients describe the pain as radiating or spreading. Usually trigger points result in persistent pain in a specific region and decreased range of motion in the muscle affected.
Injections directed into the painful area can reduce/resolve the associated pain. This in-office procedure takes only a few minutes to perform.
Other treatment options include physical therapy, ice/heat, and topical or oral pain relievers.
At Vitality Physical Medicine, Dr. Brooks can assess your pain and help you determine the best treatment option(s) and if a trigger point injection is right for you.
